With Great British Bake Off back on our screens, we can officially say baking season is underway. And did you know you can get some of the baking action here in Digbeth?

To celebrate National Baking Week, one of our favourite spots to visit is The Big Birmingham Bake on Floodgate Street!

With cooking stations resembling the tent from GBBO, you and a friend can compete with other teams in a 90 minute challenge to make the best bakes!

They have monthly themes for the bakes, so for October, it had to be Halloween centred! Are you ready to make a scarily delicious monster cake?

And to celebrate your success (we hope!) in the kitchen, you can pop-by to their year-round bar, which has live music and heaters, so you can enjoy even in the Autumn weather!

If you’re not into baking but want to taste some tasty treats, Digbeth will still have you covered. We love Baked In Brick: they may be known for their pizza, but they also have an in-house bakery! Not only do they cater for The Big Birmingham Bake, but you can grab your bread and patisserie treats at their spot on Gibb Street.

Our favourite coffee spot Kanteen is another go-to for pastries, cakes and muffins. They have a vast vegan selection too, from sausage rolls to carrot cake; pop by on Gibb Street for your fix!
